Nalanda: An elderly man died suddenly at the Indian Bank in Khudaganj market, Nalanda district, after being told his work had not been completed. The deceased, 70-year-old Arjun Prasad, a resident of Rasalpur village, had visited the bank three times in the past month to complete his banking tasks.
On Saturday, he visited the bank again, accompanied by his son. After officials informed him that his work was still pending, he fell unconscious and later died on the premises. The incident caused panic among other customers, and a large crowd gathered at the scene.
Police in-charge Ravi Kumar arrived at the bank with his team to manage the situation and calm the crowd. Villagers expressed anger towards the bank staff, blaming them for the death. Family members, including his daughter-in-law and granddaughter, were visibly distressed and criticized the officials for their handling of the matter.
Bank operations were disrupted for approximately three hours following the incident. Customers reported that officials often act arbitrarily and delay work, sometimes citing technical issues as excuses. Several people who visited the bank after the incident requested the manager’s transfer.
