Muzaffarpur: An eight-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother, who had wandered from Delhi to Muzaffarpur, were reunited with their parents on Friday following efforts by the District Legal Services Authority.
The children were brought to the Special Adoption Institute, where the authority’s secretary, Jayshree Kumari, discovered their presence during an inspection on August 27. The girl revealed that she had left her home with her brother while their parents were away for work. At Delhi Railway Station, a woman had put the children on a train bound for Patna, from where they eventually reached Muzaffarpur.
Following verification by the Sarpanch of Basaitha Basatpur, the Child Protection Unit completed the necessary legal procedures and handed the children over to their parents. The swift intervention ensured the safe return of the children to their family after the ordeal.
