Patna: Residents of Arpana Colony and Ram Jaipal Path Marg in Danapur have been battling severe waterlogging for over a month, as streets remain submerged under one and a half feet of black, foul-smelling water.
Approximately 40,000 people living in these colonies are facing daily hardships, including difficulties commuting to schools, markets, and offices. Locals have repeatedly approached the ward councilor and the subdivisional officer of Danapur, but no effective solution has been provided.
The accumulation of water has started to rot, posing serious health risks such as dengue and malaria. While drains have been constructed around the colonies, the level of the roads remains lower than the drains, preventing proper water flow. The situation is further exacerbated by clogged drains due to inadequate cleaning.
Residents have expressed frustration, noting that despite paying taxes to the Danapur Municipal Council, basic civic amenities remain unmet.
