The automotive components industry in India saw a turnover of Rs. 6.14 lakh crore (USD 74.1 billion) in FY 2023-24, with the aftermarket segment contributing Rs. 93,886 crore (USD 11.3 billion). The growing demand for used vehicles and the rise of e-commerce have propelled the aftermarket sector, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions, transforming it into a more organised industry.
Bihar and Jharkhand’s auto components aftermarket represents about 5% of India’s national market. The region boasts a robust ecosystem of 155 automobile dealerships, over 1,000 auto component retailers, and numerous repair workshops. Urban centres like Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Muzaffarpur serve as key hubs, while workshops along highways cater to rural and suburban areas.
