Bihar CM Felicitates 13-Year-Old Cricket Sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today felicitated Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 13-year-old cricket prodigy who has taken the cricketing world by storm with his stellar performances in the U-19 Asia Cup. During a ceremony at his residence, the Chief Minister presented Vaibhav with a shawl and praised the young cricketer for bringing pride to Bihar through his extraordinary achievements.

“Vaibhav is a rare diamond in the cricketing world, and his success at such a young age is a matter of immense pride for Bihar. The government will continue to support talented players like him to ensure they reach their full potential,” said CM Nitish.

The Chief Minister also lauded the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) for its role in nurturing Vaibhav’s talent. He felicitated BCA President Rakesh Kumar Tiwari with a shawl, commending the association for bringing hidden gems like Vaibhav into the spotlight. “BCA has made Bihar proud, and we extend our best wishes for their continued efforts in promoting talent,” he added.

Vaibhav, who hails from Samastipur, has already made history by scoring the youngest international century at 13 years and 188 days during a Youth Test match. Representing India in the U-19 Asia Cup, he impressed cricket enthusiasts by scoring back-to-back fifties, further cementing his reputation as a rising star.

Adding to his remarkable journey, Vaibhav has been signed by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 1.1 crore in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Under the mentorship of cricketing legend Rahul Dravid, Vaibhav is set to hone his skills further and take his career to new heights.

Before his India stint, Vaibhav also represented the Australia U-19 team, showcasing his talent on the international stage. His story has inspired young cricketers across Bihar, highlighting the potential of grassroots sports development in the state.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha, former Minister Vijay Chaudhary, BCA President Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, and Vaibhav’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi.
