Prashant Kishor Discharged From Hospital; Next Phase of Satyagraha to Be Announced

Patna: Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishore has been discharged from Medanta Hospital following improvement in his health. Kishor, who had been admitted to the ICU on January 7, was moved to a normal ward on January 9 and released on Saturday evening.

The next phase of his satyagraha for the cancellation of the BPSC 70th PT exam and other demands is expected to be announced on Sunday. A poster circulating on social media hints at further developments, stating, “The next phase of Satyagraha will start in the next 72 hours. Prashant Kishore is coming.”

On Saturday, a Jan Suraj Party delegation, led by its president Manoj Bharti, met Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to discuss the demands. Bharti said that the governor had deemed the candidates’ concerns legitimate and suggested facilitating discussions with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. However, he also urged Kishore to end his hunger strike due to health concerns.

Meanwhile, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued a legal notice to Kishore, demanding evidence for his allegations of corruption in the recruitment process, including claims of job sales amounting to Rs 1-1.5 crore. The commission included a video clip of Kishore’s accusations and warned of legal action under IT and other laws if evidence is not provided.

In a related development, the Patna High Court has accepted a petition filed by the Jan Suraj Party seeking a re-examination of the BPSC 70th PT exam. The case will be heard on January 15.
