Patna: A one-day workshop on apprenticeship training was organized at Patna Women’s College by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Bihar, in collaboration with the Bihar State Higher Education Council, Patna. The event aimed to prepare final-year students to enroll in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) by June 2025.

Baidyanath Yadav, Secretary of Education, underscored the pivotal role of students in shaping the future workforce and highlighted the importance of such initiatives for skill development. Prof. Rekha Kumari emphasized the need to integrate internships into academic curricula to bridge the gap between education and industry requirements.

S.M. Ejaz Ahmed, Director of the Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region), delivered the keynote address. He explained the apprenticeship process and its benefits, noting that the Government of India provides a minimum stipend of ₹9,000 for graduates of general degree programs to encourage participation in the scheme.

The workshop focused on enhancing employability and career prospects for students in Bihar. Apprenticeship Training and Placement Officers (ATPOs) from various colleges also participated in group discussions, where they finalized schedules for Career Guidance Programs aimed at supporting students’ transition into the professional world.
