Patna: Vaishali is set to get a modern five-star resort as the Bihar Cabinet has approved a proposal to develop and operate the tourism project under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The project will cover 10 acres of land acquired by the Bihar Tourism Department. The revised proposal expands an earlier plan to construct a five-star hotel on five acres, allowing the entire 10-acre plot to be used for the resort.
The initiative aims to strengthen tourism infrastructure in Vaishali and provide visitors with high-quality accommodation and modern facilities.
Resort to Offer Accommodation and Leisure Facilities
The proposed resort is envisioned as a destination offering more than hotel accommodation.
Planned facilities are expected to include spaces for relaxation, outdoor activities, recreation and social events, alongside hospitality services.
The government aims to provide tourists visiting Vaishali with a more comprehensive tourism experience in an attractive setting. The project is also expected to expand the district’s capacity to accommodate visitors.
Earlier Five-Acre Hotel Plan Revised
The Tourism Department had initially proposed developing a five-star hotel on five acres of the acquired land.
Under the revised proposal, the government has approved the development and operation of a five-star resort across the full 10-acre site.
The change reflects a broader approach to tourism infrastructure, with the resort concept intended to combine accommodation with leisure and recreational experiences.
Project to Be Developed Under PPP Model
The resort will be developed and operated through a public-private partnership in accordance with the provisions of the Bihar Infrastructure Development Enabling Amendment Act, 2023, as cited in the government proposal.
The Tourism Department had earlier issued Resolution No. 2572 on August 27, 2025. The Cabinet has now approved an amendment to Clause 5(b) of that resolution to enable the revised project proposal.
Under the PPP model, the project is intended to involve private-sector participation in development and operations within the applicable framework.
Boost Expected for Vaishali Tourism
Vaishali is an important destination in Bihar’s historical and religious tourism landscape. Improved accommodation and leisure facilities could make it easier for visitors to plan longer stays and explore nearby attractions.
The proposed resort is expected to strengthen the district’s tourism infrastructure and improve the range of services available to domestic and other visitors.
However, the project’s estimated cost, construction schedule, selection of a private partner and expected opening date have not yet been specified in the information provided.
Construction Timeline Yet to Be Announced
The Cabinet’s approval marks a step forward for the proposed resort, but further details will be needed before construction and operations can be assessed.
The next stages are expected to involve the necessary project-development and implementation procedures under the PPP framework. The timeline will depend on the subsequent decisions and arrangements made by the concerned authorities.
