Bihar Ends Legal Deadlock, Appoints 6,341 Junior Engineers: Minister
Patna: Bihar’s Water Resources Minister, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, has said that the regular appointment of junior engineers in the state had been stalled for several years due to legal hurdles. The recruitment process, initiated by the State Technical Services Commission in 2019, was delayed after a legal dispute involving multiple parties, including contract workers and candidates from non-government institutions, escalated to the Supreme Court following a review in the High Court.
As part of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s drive to provide government jobs, the Water Resources Department, acting as the nodal agency, reviewed the stalled process. The government then submitted a fresh proposal to the Supreme Court, outlining an integrated resolution to address the claims of all concerned parties. The court approved the proposal and directed the completion of the appointment process, leading to the recruitment of 6,341 junior engineers.
