Langat Singh College Marks International Women’s Day With Focus on Empowerment

Muzaffarpur: Langat Singh College celebrated International Women’s Day with a series of events promoting women’s empowerment. The program, jointly organized by the college’s National Service Scheme (NSS) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) units, featured speeches and cultural performances aimed at highlighting the role of women in society.
The event, held in the college auditorium, was led by Principal Prof. Om Prakash Roy, who emphasized the achievements of pioneering women such as astronaut Sunita Williams and the late Kalpana Chawla. “Women’s empowerment is not just a slogan but a necessity for a just and equitable society,” he said, urging students to challenge gender stereotypes and advocate for equal opportunities.
Dr. Rituraj Kumar, NSS program officer, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment where women are recognized as leaders. Dr. Abha Rani stressed the importance of education and financial independence, while Dr. Mamta Rani called for the removal of social barriers that hinder women’s progress.
Students and faculty members actively participated in discussions and performances that addressed gender-related challenges. Those involved in organizing the event included faculty members Dr. Rima Kumari, Dr. Sajida Anjum, Dr. Tripada Bharti, Dr. Archana Thakur, Dr. Deepika Kumari, Dr. Anamika Anand, Dr. Anjana Kumari, Dr. Shalini, Dr. Sima Kumari, Dr. Poonam Kumari, Dr. Navin Kumar, and Dr. Pradeep Kumar, as well as staff members Sujit Kumar, Rishi Kumar, and Satyendra Kumar. Student volunteers Ankit, Khushi, Nyasa Verma, Arshad, Anshu, and Smriti also contributed to the success of the event.
