Jesus And Mary Academy Students Celebrate Holi With Elderly At Patna Old Age Home

Patna: Students of Jesus and Mary Academy, Patna City, visited Sahara Vruddhashram in Maharani Colony, Agamkuan, on Monday to celebrate Holi with its elderly residents. The event, organised with the cooperation of the old age home’s head, Deepak Sen, and Krishna Kumar, brought moments of joy to the senior citizens ahead of the festival.

The students marked the occasion by playing Holi with flower petals and applying gulal, seeking blessings from the elderly. Traditional faag songs filled the air as the residents joined in, dancing to the festive tunes. The smiles on their faces reflected the warmth and joy of the celebration.

The school’s principal, Pooja Ann Sharma, along with teacher Mukesh Ojha, was present at the event. Speaking on the occasion, Sharma emphasised the importance of sharing moments of happiness with the elderly who live away from their families. “We may not be able to erase their inner sorrow, but by spending time with them, we can certainly bring them some joy,” she said.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets and fruits among the residents, leaving behind a spirit of togetherness and festive cheer.
