Weather Change Brings Temporary Relief to Bihar After Rising Temperatures

CLOUDY WEATHER

Patna: Residents across Bihar, including Patna, woke up to cloudy skies on Sunday as the state experienced a shift in weather patterns following Holi. After a spell of rising temperatures in recent days, the arrival of cold winds has offered some respite, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Meteorologists attributed the change to a Western Disturbance, which has brought snowfall to the Himalayan region and rainfall to the northern plains. The system is expected to influence Bihar as well, with forecasts predicting light to moderate rainfall and strong winds across several districts over the next two days.

The IMD has forecast cloudy skies and intermittent light rain on March 16 and 17 in districts including Patna, Gaya, Buxar, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Begusarai, Samastipur, Aurangabad and Jamui. The presence of westerly winds is likely to make the weather pleasant in the mornings and evenings.

Despite mild sunshine during the day, temperatures are expected to range between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius, with a slight dip at night. Areas experiencing cloud cover could see further temperature drops, providing brief relief from the heat.

Weather experts, however, believe that the cool spell will be short-lived, with temperatures expected to rise again from March 18. While the mornings and evenings may retain tad cooler, the overall warming trend is likely to resume.
