Sudden Weather Change Brings Relief to Patna, More Rain Expected in Bihar

Patna: The capital experienced a sudden shift in weather on Sunday, with bright sunshine in the morning giving way to cloudy skies and light drizzle within minutes. The intermittent showers made the weather pleasant, as the sun played hide and seek throughout the day. The overcast conditions led to a drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius in both maximum and minimum temperatures.
The maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at 36.4°C, while the minimum temperature stood at 23.4°C.
Western Disturbance Brings Rain and Cooler Winds
According to the Meteorological Center in Patna, snowfall in the hilly regions due to western disturbances is causing rainfall in the plains. The recent rainfall in Delhi sent cool winds towards Bihar, impacting districts like Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad, Arwal, Patna, West and East Champaran, Siwan, Saran, and Gopalganj. These cold winds are expected to further lower temperatures in the coming days.
Khagaria recorded the highest temperature in Bihar at 39.4°C, with a minimum temperature of 25.7°C. In contrast, Saharsa’s Agwanpur recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 16.5°C, while its maximum temperature stood at 31.5°C.
More Rain Expected on March 21-22
Meteorologists predict another western disturbance from the Himalayas on March 21 and 22, which is likely to bring light rain to several districts, including Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Jehanabad, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad, and Arwal. This will lead to a further slight drop in temperatures.
Residents can expect mild showers and cooler temperatures over the next few days before summer heat intensifies again.
