CM Nitish Kumar to Inaugurate Bihar Diwas Celebrations at Gandhi Maidan on March 22

Patna : Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to inaugurate the Bihar Diwas celebrations at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, on March 22. The three-day event, which will run until March 24, will feature a series of cultural performances across multiple venues, including Sri Krishna Memorial Hall and Ravindra Bhawan. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on March 24.

Preparations for the event are underway, with the education department promoting participating artists through video messages celebrating Bihar’s heritage. Notable singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who will perform on the opening day, expressed his excitement, referring to Bihar as his “maternal home” and promising a memorable performance. Similarly, renowned vocalist Pratibha Singh Baghel will take the stage on March 23.

Security Measures and Venue Restrictions

In light of the preparations and security arrangements, morning and evening walks at Gandhi Maidan have been temporarily banned until March 24. The Shri Krishna Memorial Development Committee, along with the district administration, has imposed these restrictions to ensure smooth management of the event. Only officials and staff involved in the preparations will be granted access to the venue. District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh confirmed that this year’s theme is ‘Unnat Bihar-Vishakt Bihar’ (Developed Bihar, Prosperous Bihar), and officials have been instructed to adhere to crowd management and traffic control protocols.
