Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Reviews Key Policies to Boost State’s Tourism, Industries, and IT Sectors
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a comprehensive review of three pivotal policies aimed at enhancing tourism, fostering industries, and advancing the information technology (IT) sector within the state. Presentations on these policies, namely the Bihar Logistics Policy-2023, Bihar IT Policy-2023, and Bihar Tourism Policy-2023, were led by senior officials from the respective departments during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
In the meeting, Sandeep Poundrik, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department, delivered a detailed presentation outlining the draft of the Bihar Logistics Policy-2023. The presentation included comprehensive information about the projects featured within the policy and the grants available for incentives.
Subsequently, Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Information Technology Department, presented a comprehensive overview of the Bihar IT Policy-2023. Furthermore, Singh, who also serves as the secretary of the tourism department, provided a presentation on the Bihar Tourism Policy-2023, sharing extensive insights into this proposed policy.
Chief Minister Nitish stressed that Bihar has undertaken numerous measures to promote and encourage industry within the state. He highlighted the importance of a policy framework designed to attract maximum investment while simultaneously creating employment opportunities. The Chief Minister articulated the objective of establishing policies that offer maximum incentives to investors and ensure a seamless process for setting up industries. He emphasized the need for effective monitoring and implementation of these policies.
He stated, “During the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Bihar welcomed individuals from other regions to establish businesses and contributed to the creation of self-employment opportunities.”
Senior officials present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister S Siddharth, Secretary to the Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister Gopal Singh, and the Director of the Industries Department, Pankaj Dixit.
