Following his meeting with PM Modi, Choudhary visited Bihar Bhawan in Delhi, where he interacted with party workers and held discussions on organisational matters, according to officials familiar with the schedule.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister also held a brief meeting with senior BJP leader Nitin Nabin at the party’s headquarters. While the discussion lasted only a few minutes, local media reports suggested it carried political significance, with speculation that the state cabinet’s final list of ministers may have been discussed.
Choudhary was sworn in as Bihar’s chief minister on April 15, alongside deputy chief ministers Bijendra Yadav and Vijay Choudhary. PM Modi had been expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony but was unable to do so, lending additional attention to their first in-person meeting since Choudhary assumed office.
Since taking office, Choudhary has sought to project an image of accessibility, holding public grievance hearings, or “Janata Darbars”, where he has listened to residents’ concerns and promised action. He has repeatedly stated his intention to steer Bihar towards becoming a developed state, emphasising governance marked by both discipline and sensitivity.
The chief minister has also voiced strong support for women’s safety and representation. Speaking during a recent foot march in Patna linked to the women’s reservation debate, he warned of strict action against those who threaten women’s security, pledging firm enforcement measures against offenders.
