Nalanda: Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, the new Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Monday. This was his first official meeting with the Chief Minister after taking charge.
During the meeting, Prof Chaturvedi spoke about the university’s plan to create a net zero campus. This means the campus will not add to pollution as it will use clean energy and reduce emissions. He said this step will support India’s and the world’s climate goals.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar appreciated this green initiative and suggested that other universities in Bihar should also adopt similar eco-friendly models. He said this will make Bihar a leader in sustainable education.
They also discussed a new shorter road route between Patna and Rajgir, which will make it easier for students and visitors to reach Nalanda University. The Vice Chancellor thanked the Bihar government for always supporting the historic university.
