Patna: The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has taken major action against Pramod Kumar, an executive engineer of Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation (BSEIDC). He is accused of having property worth 309.61% more than his known income. On Tuesday, EOU teams carried out raids at his homes and other properties in Patna, Sitamarhi, and Saharsa.
According to officials, one team raided his property in Sitamarhi, three teams were sent to Saharsa, and two teams searched different locations in Patna. The raids were done after getting a search warrant from the special court in Patna. Officials said that they will share more information about the case after the raids are complete.
The case against Pramod Kumar was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Investigators said that he collected wealth many times higher than his salary as a government engineer. Surveillance agencies had been watching him for months before taking this action.
EOU officials believe that other people may also be involved in helping him collect this illegal wealth. All documents and evidence found during the raids will be checked carefully. Recently, EOU also raided the house of Sanjeev Mukhiya, the main accused in the NEET paper leak case, and recovered many documents and objectionable items.
