West Champaran: Police in Shikarpur have arrested a man and a young woman in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old schoolgirl in Narkatiaganj, West Champaran. The incident reportedly occurred after the victim was given intoxicants.
The arrested individual, identified as Chandsi Paswan, son of a railway employee, is accused of raping the Class 7 student. A female friend of the victim has also been taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy.
According to police, the minor girl, whose identity is being withheld, was allegedly abducted on the evening of July 24. Her father reported that Chandsi Paswan, with the alleged assistance of the victim’s friend, took his daughter on a motorbike after she had been given intoxicants.
Relatives launched a search for the girl, who was eventually located the following day at Chandsi Paswan’s house in Hardiya Chowk. Following this discovery, the family immediately informed the police.
The victim was taken to a local subdivision hospital for immediate medical attention and subsequently transferred to Government Medical Hospital Bettiah for further treatment and examination. Both the victim and her father have accused Chandsi Paswan, whose father Suresh Paswan works for the railways and resides in Hardiya, of the crime. Chandsi Paswan is reportedly employed as a parking collector.
The victim told police that a girl from her neighbourhood gave her sweets laced with intoxicants on July 24, after which she lost consciousness. She stated that she awoke to find herself at Chandsi Paswan’s residence in Hardiya Chowk and alleges she was molested.
Dr. Govind Chandra Shukla, a medical officer, confirmed that the girl was referred to GMCH Bettiah after receiving first aid. He stated that further details regarding the alleged assault would only be confirmed after the medical report is received from Bettiah.
Shikarpur Police Station Head Jwala Kumar Singh confirmed that an First Information Report (FIR) has been registered based on the minor victim’s statement. He added that the accused youth and the girl implicated in the conspiracy have been arrested, and a scientific investigation is underway, with a police team on site.
