Patna: Police discovered three live bombs along with explosive-making material at the Ambedkar hostel in the Sultanganj area of Patna on Monday, prompting a large-scale security operation. Several students have been detained in connection with the incident, while authorities continue a thorough search of the campus.
A heavy police presence has been deployed following a tip-off that led to the raid, though investigators have yet to determine who is responsible for the explosives.
The incident has stirred memories of a similar case in May at Patna University’s BN College hostel, where a violent dispute among students led to multiple bombings and left one student seriously injured. Police investigations at the time suggested tensions between hostel residents and local groups.
