Patna: Patliputra University has taken a strict stand against students who try to enter its colleges with forged documents. The university has announced that in the new academic session, any admission secured through fake mark sheets will be cancelled straight away. This decision has been made to ensure that the admission process remains fair and transparent, and that genuine students do not suffer because of fraud.
Vice Chancellor Prof Upendra Prasad Singh has written a letter to all affiliated colleges, including government colleges, minority institutions and degree colleges, asking them to be extra careful during the admission process. He instructed principals to check original mark sheets of both intermediate and graduation carefully. If any difference is found between the submitted documents and the original ones, colleges must report the matter to the university so that the admission can be cancelled and proper action taken.
The Vice Chancellor also reminded principals that they should personally ensure that certificates are verified in the right manner. According to reports, many colleges had formed admission committees to carry out the process. While the first phase of admissions was conducted properly, there were complaints that the scrutiny was relaxed after the release of the second merit list. This has raised concerns about fake mark sheets slipping through unnoticed.
By making these new directions clear, the university hopes to strengthen the admission system and prevent malpractice. Officials have said that such steps are necessary to protect the value of education and the reputation of the university. Students have also been advised not to take shortcuts or indulge in fraudulent practices, as this could lead to serious consequences including loss of admission and further disciplinary action.
