Patna: The Bihar government has taken a new step to help young people of the state find better jobs abroad. An agreement has been signed between the Bihar Skill Development Mission and the German Language Center to provide training in German language. This programme is aimed at reducing unemployment in the state and making the youth more competitive in the global job market.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Patna by Mission Director Manish Shankar and a representative of the German Language Center. The signing took place in the presence of Additional CEO of the Bihar Skill Development Mission, Rajesh Bharti. Officials said that under this plan, young people with technical skills will not only learn the German language but will also get training in soft skills and cultural knowledge. This will prepare them for jobs in Germany and other countries.
In the first phase, a pilot batch of 50 candidates will be selected. These young people will be between 19 and 26 years of age and must already have technical trade certificates from recognised institutions such as NCVT, SCVT or NSDC. They will receive German language training at A1 and A2 levels, along with sessions on cultural orientation and communication. The idea is to make them job-ready for international opportunities.
The training will last for about 120 days. Classes will be held six days a week, for five hours each day, and will be taught by qualified instructors from the German Language Center. If this first batch is successful, the programme will be expanded further to include higher levels of German language training, such as B1 and B2. There will also be arrangements for job interviews with global partners. Officials believe that this initiative will open up new chances for the youth of Bihar and help them earn respect as part of a globally skilled workforce.
