Patna: A serious road accident occurred on Monday on Atal Path in Patna when a speeding car lost control and struck several motorcycles, leaving four people injured. Among the injured were two children, who are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital along with the two adults. The crash caused chaos on the busy road and left multiple bikes badly damaged.
Witnesses said the car was moving at an extremely high speed, giving the riders no time to avoid the collision. People present at the scene described the incident as sudden and terrifying. The impact not only injured the victims but also created panic among other commuters. Many bystanders rushed to help the injured and called the police to the scene immediately.
After the accident, an angry crowd gathered around the car. In their anger, they vandalised the vehicle involved in the crash and tried to block the road to protest against reckless driving. The police arrived quickly and managed to control the crowd, clearing the road and taking the driver into custody. Authorities said the driver will be questioned as part of the investigation into the cause of the accident.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Patliputra police station. Police officials confirmed that statements from the injured and witnesses will be recorded. They are also checking if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or driving recklessly, and whether any traffic rules were violated.
