Patna: Bihar has taken another big step towards becoming an industrial hub. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced that a new readymade garments unit will be set up in Bela Industrial Area, Phase-2, in Muzaffarpur. The unit will be built by M/s Gogreen Apparel Limited with a private investment of Rs 23.36 crore. It will have the capacity to produce 55 lakh pieces of garments every year, giving a huge boost to the state’s textile industry.
Choudhary explained that the company received approval only after submitting all required documents, including land details, project report, and bank loan sanction letters. He also said that the government will give financial incentives, but only after checking the actual money spent on the project. This step ensures that government funds are used properly and fairly.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the garment unit falls under the textile and leather sector, which the state government considers a high-priority industry. This means the government is focused on developing this sector to create more jobs, attract private investment, and improve the state’s economy.
“This is an important step for Bihar,” Choudhary said. “Our NDA government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is working hard to provide more employment opportunities for young people. We have already approved the new Industrial Policy 2025, and now this project will take us one step closer to our goal of economic growth and industrial development.”
The new unit is expected to generate jobs for local workers and give a fresh direction to Muzaffarpur’s economy. With such projects, Bihar is aiming to become a major centre for textile production in the coming years.
