Patna: Patna will get a brand-new cultural and business hub tomorrow as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurates the Maurya Mandapam at the Maurya Lok complex. The project, developed under Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), has been completed at a cost of Rs 15 crore and is aimed at turning the area into a one-stop destination for events, leisure and business.
The project has completely renovated the Maurya Lok complex and Maurya Tower. According to PSCL Managing Director Animesh Kumar Parashar, the entire construction was done using light-gauge steel framing technology, which is faster and more durable than traditional construction. He said that with this new facility, Patna now has a place where people can celebrate weddings, organise cultural events, watch movies, enjoy fine dining and even work out — all in one location.
The main highlight of the project is the new multipurpose hall, built on the rooftop of Mauryalok-A Block. The hall covers 12,000 square feet and has no pillars, which makes it completely open and easy to use for large gatherings. Its insulated roof will keep the hall much cooler than the outside temperature, making it perfect for weddings, parties, corporate meetings and social functions even during the summer.
The redevelopment also includes a two-screen multiplex with seating for 40 people in each hall and the latest sound and picture technology. A theme-based rooftop fine dining restaurant has been built on the multiplex floor, with enough space for 80 guests at a time. A fully equipped modern gym and yoga centre have been created on the rooftop of Mauryalok-B Block for health and fitness lovers.
In addition to these facilities, 24,000 square feet of office space has been built on the sixth and seventh floors of Maurya Tower for commercial use. The area around the complex has also been beautified with repaired internal roads, new lighting, fresh paint, tree plantation and the development of Swami Vivekananda Park.
Officials say this project will give Patna residents a modern place to enjoy cultural programmes, leisure activities, dining, fitness and business all in one location. They believe it will also attract more visitors to the area and give a boost to the city’s economy
