Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is set to lay the foundation stone for 1,300 infrastructure projects across 33 districts, with a total cost of Rs 769.63 crore, in a significant step towards urban development and civic improvement.
The projects, implemented by the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO), will target critical public needs including road construction and repair, drainage, sanitation, parks, high-mast lighting, and other civic amenities.
Animesh Kumar Parashar, managing director of BUIDCO, said the schemes were designed to improve transportation, sanitation, and public spaces while also contributing to the beautification of towns and cities. “Completion of these schemes will ease the lives of common people and further strengthen Bihar’s infrastructure, in line with the government’s commitment to development for all,” he added.
Officials believe the projects will have a direct impact on day-to-day life across the 33 districts, enhancing both the quality of infrastructure and the standard of civic amenities. With work set to begin following the foundation ceremony, the state government sees the initiative as part of its broader agenda of inclusive growth and sustainable development
