Patna: Amid tight security and an outpouring of supporters, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav filed his nomination papers from the Raghopur constituency on Wednesday for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
Tejashwi arrived at the district collectorate in Hajipur with his father, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, mother and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, and sister and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti. Their presence together signalled unity within the RJD ranks as the party gears up for one of the most closely watched electoral battles in the state.
Tight Security And Large Turnout
Authorities made special security arrangements at the nomination venue. The district administration declared a no-vehicle zone, with paramilitary and police personnel deployed to control the swelling crowd. District Magistrate Varsha Singh, SDM Rambabu Baitha and SDPO Subodh Kumar personally reviewed the arrangements to ensure order.
A Family Bastion For Three Decades

Raghopur has long been a political stronghold of the Prasad family. Both Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi have previously represented the constituency, and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav is contesting from it for the third consecutive time. The seat remains a symbolic and strategic centre of power for the RJD.
High Enthusiasm Among Supporters
Thousands of party workers gathered outside the nomination centre, chanting slogans and waving RJD flags as Tejashwi’s convoy passed through the barricaded route. The collectorate campus and surrounding areas in Hajipur were charged with excitement, reflecting the deep-rooted loyalty of RJD’s voter base in Raghopur.
