Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with women workers from Bihar under the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot” initiative, lauding their contribution to the BJP’s grassroots campaign and calling them the “backbone of the NDA’s victory drive”.
Addressing the virtual meeting, PM Modi said that Bihar’s women have become symbols of change, recalling the hardships faced during the so-called era of Jungle Raj.
“During the era of Jungle Raj, it was difficult for daughters to step out of their homes,” he said. “But today, women are working fearlessly at night in hospitals, railway stations and many other places. The women of Bihar have stood like a wall against Jungle Raj — determined never to let it return.”
He added that the “perpetrators of Jungle Raj” are now “busy spreading lies” to mislead women voters ahead of the elections, but the electorate is wiser this time.
During the interaction, BJP women workers from across the state shared their experiences. Dr Rekha, president of the Mahila Morcha in Begusarai, told the Prime Minister, “There is tremendous enthusiasm among women. This time, women will vote in greater numbers than men.”
The Prime Minister said that the NDA’s rallies across Bihar were drawing record-breaking crowds, with strong participation from women.
“Everywhere I go, I see our sisters and daughters attending in large numbers. The women workers of Bihar BJP are doing a commendable job under the pledge of ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot’,” Modi said.
He asserted that the NDA’s victory was certain, claiming that the people of Bihar — from the poor and Dalits to the extremely backward classes — had already made up their minds.
“This election has confirmed that the NDA will win with a landslide. The people of Bihar will ensure that Jungle Raj never returns, and the record of the last 20 years will be broken,” the Prime Minister declared.
Women participants told the Prime Minister that government schemes under the double-engine government had improved their lives, giving them financial independence and confidence. PM Modi responded by saying that women’s empowerment would remain central to Bihar’s development and the NDA’s future agenda.
