Nalanda: Nalanda University has entered into a new partnership to deepen research on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and expand academic collaboration in this field. The university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dattopant Thengadi Foundation (DTF) at its campus in Rajgir, Bihar, marking another important step in its effort to promote India’s civilisational knowledge traditions.
The Delhi-based Dattopant Thengadi Foundation works mainly in labour and economic policy, and also partners with several institutions that study related areas. Through this new MoU, both organisations aim to explore the social, legal and economic sides of Indian Knowledge Systems. The idea is to understand how these traditional forms of knowledge can play a meaningful role in today’s education system.
The partnership will include joint research projects, academic discussions and long-term collaboration. Officials from both sides said that by working together, they hope to bring forward fresh insights into how India’s ancient knowledge traditions can be better understood and used in the modern world. They also said that this cooperation will create more opportunities for scholars and students to study these systems in a deeper and more practical way.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Nalanda University Vice Chancellor Professor Sachin Chaturvedi and Shri Virjesh Upadhyay, Director General of the Dattopant Thengadi Foundation. Senior members from both institutions also attended the event. Nalanda University said it has always supported the study of India’s traditional knowledge, and this agreement will further strengthen its commitment to promoting research, innovation and meaningful dialogue in this field. The university added that the collaboration is a significant step towards preserving and sharing India’s intellectual heritage with future generations.
