Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Orders Measures to Combat Scorching Heat and Heatwave
Patna: In response to the severe heatwave and scorching temperatures, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed the Disaster Management Department and all District Magistrates to take immediate and appropriate actions to mitigate the impact on residents.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring sufficient drinking water supplies, particularly in sensitive areas across all districts. He directed officials to closely monitor groundwater levels and assess the situation in their respective districts. Additionally, Nitish urged local authorities to visit affected areas and advise residents on precautionary measures to protect themselves from the extreme heat. Public announcements via loudspeakers should also be organized to raise awareness and provide safety tips.
The Chief Minister has mandated that all Primary Health Centres, including Sub-Divisional and Sadar Hospitals, remain on high alert. He stressed the necessity of having adequate medical supplies available at these facilities. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of maintaining an uninterrupted power supply in both rural and urban areas to provide relief from the oppressive heat.
The Chief Minister also called on the Disaster Management Department to continuously monitor the situation and keep the public informed about safety measures and updates regarding the heatwave.
