The project is being executed by the rural works department. Construction was scheduled to begin on 23 September 2025, but work has not yet started. Officials have conducted soil testing on both banks of the river, and residents have been told that construction will commence once the test reports are received.
Despite the delay, the announcement has generated optimism among villagers, who say the bridge will transform daily travel. At present, people rely on a temporary causeway built several years ago using district council funds. Locals say the structure has deteriorated and poses safety risks, particularly during the monsoon season when the river swells, and crossings become impossible.
The bridge’s foundation stone was laid by local legislator Bharat Bind shortly before the last election. While villagers remain hopeful, many say they are waiting to see tangible progress on the ground.
