Nalanda: The Governor of Tripura, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, visited Nalanda University in Rajgir on Sunday, where he interacted with students and faculty and discussed India’s intellectual and cultural traditions. The governor was accompanied by his spouse during the official visit to the internationally recognised institution located in Nalanda district of Bihar.
He was received at the campus by Vice-Chancellor Sachin Chaturvedi and accorded a ceremonial guard of honour. University officials described the visit as part of Nalanda University’s ongoing engagement with constitutional authorities and its broader commitment to academic dialogue and public service.
During his interaction with students and faculty members, the governor expressed particular interest in subjects including Buddhism, Vedic influences, maritime history and India’s civilisational linkages with the wider world. Drawing from his experience in public life and administration, he encouraged students to engage deeply with India’s intellectual heritage and to contribute meaningfully to society through scholarship and public service.
The governor and his spouse were also given a guided tour of the university’s Net Zero sustainable campus. He appreciated the institution’s focus on environmental sustainability, community-driven initiatives and globally engaged learning. Officials said the visit highlighted Nalanda University’s growing role as a centre for academic excellence and its efforts to combine traditional knowledge systems with modern education and sustainable development goals.
