Patna: Employees of Bihar’s energy department gathered in Patna this week to celebrate Holi, with senior officials using the occasion to underline the importance of unity and cooperation within the public sector workforce. The Holi Milan ceremony was held at Vidyut Bhawan, where staff members marked the festival with colour, music and messages of solidarity.

Addressing employees, Manoj Kumar Singh, energy secretary and chairman-cum-managing director of the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, spoke of the need for collective effort and mutual support in ensuring efficient power services across the state. He encouraged staff to carry forward the spirit of harmony symbolised by Holi into their professional responsibilities.
Manoj Singh was joined by Mahendra Kumar, managing director of the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, and Rahul Kumar, managing director of the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited. The three leaders formally opened the celebrations by applying gulal to singers and employees, a gesture that set a festive tone for the event.

Throughout the ceremony, employees participated in traditional Holi songs and exchanged colours, reflecting a sense of shared purpose beyond official hierarchies. Organisers said the gathering was intended not only as a seasonal celebration but also as an opportunity to reinforce camaraderie and strengthen professional bonds within the department.
