Patna: The Bihar government has extended the deadline for submitting tenders related to the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the proposed Greenfield airports in Sonpur and Sultanganj, according to the state’s Civil Aviation Department.
In a corrigendum issued as part of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the department revised key dates for the selection of consultants who will prepare DPRs for the planned airports in Sonpur in Saran district and Sultanganj in Bhagalpur district.
The amendment follows the original RFP issued on February 5. Under the revised schedule, the last date for submitting tenders has been extended from February 27 to March 12.
The opening of technical bids has also been postponed. It will now take place on March 13 instead of the earlier scheduled date of March 10.
Officials said the technical presentation process for shortlisted bidders will begin on March 17 at the Civil Conference Hall of the Civil Aviation Department on Airport Road in Patna.
According to the department, several pre-bid queries were received from potential bidders. These queries have been reviewed, and necessary amendments have been incorporated into the RFP document, which has been uploaded to the official portal.
The Bihar government plans to develop modern greenfield airports at Sonpur and Sultanganj to improve regional air connectivity. The projects are also expected to boost tourism and stimulate economic activity in the surrounding regions.
