Patna: A workshop on acting was organised at Patna Women’s College by its Department of Performing Arts in collaboration with Dakhal Theatre Society, as part of the Gender Inclusion and Equity Initiatives under Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-UShA).
The session, titled From Emotion to Expression: The Journey of an Actor, was led by theatre practitioners including Tanveer Akhtar, national general secretary of the Indian People’s Theatre Association, and Jay Prakash, a faculty member at the National Institute of Fashion Technology.

The workshop began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and the felicitation of the speakers. Akhtar led the opening session, focusing on theatre fundamentals, acting techniques and body language, while also demonstrating mime to engage participants.
Prakash followed with a session on the psychology of acting, referencing the work of prominent dramatists and leading group activities designed to develop concentration and listening skills—key elements in connecting with audiences during performances.

The event was coordinated by Enakshi Dey Biswas, Kriti Rani and Anish Singh, and moderated by students Vagisha and Priyanshi. According to organisers, around 210 students from within and outside the college took part in the workshop.
