Patna: Metro services on the Malahi Pakri–Khemnichak section of Patna Metro’s priority corridor are expected to begin shortly, with construction and system checks entering their final stages.
Work at the Malahi Pakri station is nearing completion, with finishing touches under way across passenger facilities and operational systems. Officials said the corridor is now awaiting final clearance before services can commence.
According to the Patna Metro Rail Corporation, the station has been designed with a focus on passenger safety, comfort and accessibility. Facilities including elevators, escalators, ventilation systems and ticketing infrastructure are being reviewed to ensure readiness ahead of launch.
Authorities said particular attention is being paid to security arrangements and cleanliness, alongside the installation of modern passenger amenities aimed at improving the travel experience.
The final phase of inspection was recently carried out by Pradeep Kumar, deputy chief services secretary at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), who reviewed key operational systems along the corridor.
During the inspection, systems such as power backup infrastructure, signalling control rooms and passenger facilities on platforms were assessed to ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards.
Officials indicated that the date for the commencement of metro services on this section is expected to be announced within the month.
The opening of the Malahi Pakri–Khemnichak stretch marks a significant step in the rollout of Patna Metro, which is expected to ease congestion and improve urban mobility in the city.
