Patna: Visitors to Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan have been queuing up in large numbers at the pavilion of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), eager to try out a digital novelty: the Virtual Selfie Point. On the first day of the three-day Bihar Diwas celebrations, more than 300 people took part, capturing free selfies alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The installation allows visitors to merge their own images into a range of digital templates, simulating photographs in newspapers and magazines. To participate, visitors register their WhatsApp numbers at the IPRD stall, select a preferred template, and receive the resulting selfie directly on their devices.

The attraction forms part of a larger showcase of Bihar government initiatives at the pavilion, which also features pictorial displays of major state schemes, folk performances, and a book counter distributing free copies of Bihar Samachar magazine. The combination of technology, culture, and information has made the IPRD stall one of the most popular stops for attendees seeking a memorable moment from the festival.
