Patna: In response to increased passenger demand during the summer holidays, Indian Railways has announced the extension of Clone Special Trains from Barauni and Darbhanga to New Delhi, alongside the launch of a new daily service between Patna and Gaya.
The Clone trains from Barauni and Darbhanga will now operate until May 31, with return services continuing until June 1, though some specific dates have been excluded. Railway officials said the extension aims to ease congestion during peak travel periods and improve the chances of securing seats for travellers.
Meanwhile, a Special Passenger Train between Patna and Gaya will operate daily from March 23 to April 6. Train number 03611 departs Patna at 5:15pm and reaches Gaya by 8:35pm, while the return service, number 03612, leaves Gaya at 5:00am to arrive in Patna at 8:00am. The service will stop at all stations along the route, catering to passengers from both urban and rural areas.
The 22-coach train, comprising 20 general and two seating-cum-luggage rake (SLR) coaches, is expected to benefit students, working professionals, and traders. Railway officials highlighted that the initiative will help regulate passenger flow during periods of high demand, including festive seasons and examination schedules.
