Madhubani: A textile and leather manufacturing unit built at a cost of Rs 400 crore was inaugurated on Saturday in the Pandaul industrial area of Madhubani district, in a move expected to boost local employment and industrial activity.
Bihar deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary attended the inauguration as chief guest. He departed from Patna by helicopter at around 12 noon and landed at the Lalit Narayan Mishra football ground helipad in Maqsood at approximately 1 pm, before proceeding by road to the industrial site.
Union minister Giriraj Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, MLAs Vinod Narayan Jha and Madhav Anand, along with other public representatives and officials, were present at the event.
The factory has been set up by Savi Global Fashion and is expected to generate employment opportunities in the region while contributing to the growth of industrial infrastructure in north Bihar.
Officials said the deputy chief minister spent around an hour at the venue, participating in the inauguration ceremony and related activities.
The project is seen as part of broader efforts to strengthen manufacturing and attract investment in the state.
