Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday reviewed several ongoing infrastructure projects across Patna and directed officials to expedite their completion, emphasising the need to improve connectivity and urban amenities in the state capital.
Accompanied by senior officials, Nitish began his inspection at a park under construction in Pataliputra Colony, where he reviewed plans for walking tracks, recreational spaces, a gymnasium and a children’s play area. He instructed authorities to accelerate work to ensure early completion of the facility.

The chief minister also inspected road connectivity projects, including work linking Nehru Path to Patalipath, and reviewed progress on the proposed four-lane Rupaspur Canal Path. The project is expected to connect Khagaul, Nehru Path and Ashok Rajpath, providing an alternative route for commuters.
At Saguna Mor, Nitish assessed the ongoing road widening project along Nehru Path, which includes the construction of an underground drainage system. Officials said the project also involves building a roadway over an open drain using a box culvert structure to improve traffic flow and urban aesthetics.
Nitish noted that western Patna is undergoing rapid development and stressed the importance of strengthening traffic management systems in the area.

He also visited Gola Road, where a 2.20km stretch connecting Nehru Path is being widened and strengthened. The chief minister said the project would help address persistent congestion in the area and improve connectivity for commuters travelling towards Danapur.
Senior officials present during the inspection included water resources minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, principal secretary to the chief minister Deepak Kumar, road construction department secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal, district magistrate Dr Tyagarajan S.M., and senior superintendent of police Kartikeya K. Sharma, among others.
Officials said the projects, once completed, are expected to ease traffic congestion, improve daily commuting and contribute to the overall development and beautification of Patna.
