Araria: A horrific incident has taken place in Araria district of Bihar, where a young man was killed in the middle of the road, leaving people present at the spot shocked.
According to eyewitness accounts, the victim’s head and torso were left lying on the road for a considerable time after the attack, creating panic and distress among those present.
It is being reported that on Thursday morning at around 10am, near the marketing yard at Subhash Chowk in Forbesganj, an argument broke out between a pickup driver and a sattu vendor. During the altercation, the vendor allegedly attacked and killed the pickup driver in a fit of rage.
The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Ali Hussain, a resident of Amona village in the Jogbani police station area. The incident created a sensation in the locality, with people gathering at the scene.
Following the killing, an angry mob caught the accused, identified as Ravi Chauhan (30), who was reportedly hiding in a house. The mob dragged him out and beat him to death.
The situation in the city has remained tense since the incident. Upon receiving information, superintendent of police Jitendra Kumar reached Forbesganj to gather complete information.
The early morning double murder has raised serious questions about law and order in the state. According to reports, the dispute began over a minor issue, which escalated into violence.
Reports also suggest that following the incident, angry locals resorted to vandalism and created unrest in the area. Police, who reached the spot after the incident, are alert and are keeping a close watch on all activities.
Authorities said the situation is under control, but tension continues to prevail in the locality as investigations into the incident are under way.
