Jamui: A shocking case has emerged from Bihar’s Jamui district, where a 15-year-old minor student was allegedly abducted in broad daylight and taken to a hotel in neighboring Lakhisarai district. The matter surfaced after an alleged video linked to the incident was reportedly circulated online.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s family at the women’s police station on Tuesday evening, Manish Kumar, son of Fokan Paswan and resident of Harla village under Town police station limits, along with two others, has been named in the case.
As per the family, the incident took place on April 15 when the student had gone to Jamui market with her younger sister to buy books. After completing the purchase, both sisters reached Mahisaudi Chowk to return home when the accused allegedly arrived on two motorcycles.
The complaint says the younger sister was forcibly made to sit on one bike, while the elder girl was threatened and taken on another bike to Lakhisarai.
There, the victim was allegedly taken to a hotel room, where she was raped. The family also alleged that the accused recorded a video and threatened to make it public if she informed anyone.
Because of fear and intimidation, the girl reportedly remained silent for several days. The incident came to light after the alleged video surfaced online.
The family further claimed that the main accused had harassed the girl on previous occasions as well.
Jamui Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Dayal said the matter has come to his notice. He stated that an FIR will be registered and strict legal action will be taken against all those involved.
Police are expected to begin raids soon to arrest the accused and investigate the full matter.
