Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inspects New Terminal Building at Patna Airport; Completion Expected by Year-End
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, inspected the under-construction terminal building at Patna Airport. The new terminal, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of this year, is expected to be fully operational by April 2025.
Once completed, the new terminal will significantly enhance the airport’s capacity, enabling it to handle up to 1 crore passengers annually—nearly three times the current capacity of 34 lakh passengers. The facility will also expand the airport’s aircraft parking capacity, allowing it to accommodate 12 aircraft simultaneously, compared to the current capacity of just six.
During the visit, CM Nitish Kumar expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction and emphasized the importance of completing the project on time to meet the growing demands of air travel in the region. The new terminal is part of a broader effort to modernize Patna Airport and improve the overall passenger experience, as well as to support the increasing air traffic in Bihar.
The state government and airport authorities are closely monitoring the project to ensure that it remains on schedule, with the goal of delivering a world-class facility that will significantly boost the state’s connectivity and economic growth.
