Darbhanga/Patna:The Syndicate of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) met on Thursday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof Sanjay Kumar Choudhary to discuss issues related to university development, campus security and academic administration.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format at the Vice-Chancellor’s residential conference hall, with members participating both in person and online.

Syndicate members reviewed several agenda items and unanimously ratified the minutes of previous meetings, including decisions taken during meetings held on May 26 and June 3.

Senate meeting postponed

The Syndicate decided to postpone the university’s general academic Senate meeting, which had been proposed later this month.

According to the university, the decision was taken to ensure the timely conduct of examinations and to focus on achieving targets under the Samarth Portal initiative.

Campus beautification plans approved

As part of a broader campus development programme, the university approved the restoration of all ponds located within the campus.

The project will include the construction of pedestrian pathways around the water bodies and the installation of benches and seating areas for students, staff and visitors.

Power infrastructure to be upgraded

The Syndicate also approved measures to improve electricity distribution across the campus.

Based on recommendations from technical experts, the university plans to install separate transformers for every five departments. Officials said the move is expected to reduce power tripping and low-voltage issues.

CCTV surveillance and new Syndicate hall planned

To strengthen internal security, CCTV cameras will be installed at key and sensitive locations across the campus.

The university also plans to construct a modern Syndicate hall within the Vice-Chancellor’s office complex to facilitate future meetings and administrative functions.

Participation in meeting

The proceedings were conducted by Registrar Dr Divya Rani Hansda, who also delivered the vote of thanks.

Several Syndicate members attended the meeting in person, while others joined through virtual mode.
