Patna: The Bihar government has started a week-long special campaign across all revenue circles from Thursday to accelerate the disposal of applications received during the Revenue Maha Abhiyan.
The camps will continue until Wednesday and are aimed at clearing pending applications through a coordinated state-wide effort involving revenue and land reforms officials.
Minister warns against negligence
Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal has cautioned officials against treating the campaign as a routine exercise, warning that any laxity in implementation would not be tolerated.
Addressing reporters in Patna on Wednesday, the minister said circle officers and revenue officials would be personally responsible for achieving the targets set under the campaign.
He said officers who fail to meet their responsibilities could face disciplinary action.
Officials directed to give campaign top priority
The state government has instructed district magistrates, settlement officers, additional collectors, deputy collectors for land reforms, circle officers and revenue personnel to accord the campaign the highest priority.
The special camps will function throughout the week, including on Sunday, to ensure uninterrupted processing of applications.
Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit and Revenue Department Secretary Jai Singh were also present during the briefing.
Focus on digitisation and disposal of applications
According to the department, all applications received during the Revenue Maha Abhiyan will be digitised as part of the campaign.
Officials have been directed to ensure 100% scanning and uploading of applications on the designated online portals. The next phase will focus on the prompt disposal of cases.
The campaign is centred on three key objectives: digitisation of records, uploading of applications and expeditious resolution of pending matters.
Survey staff to support implementation
To strengthen implementation, the department will deploy special survey amins from most districts to assist with the campaign.
However, personnel posted in Sheohar, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Jehanabad and Arwal will remain engaged in ongoing land survey work, which the government aims to complete by August 15.
Officials said the additional manpower would help speed up application processing and improve service delivery during the week-long drive.
