Patna: Former Bihar minister and Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav has lodged a formal complaint at the Secretariat Police Station, alleging that a conspiracy is being hatched to harm him and damage his political and social standing.
The complaint comes amid an ongoing controversy involving the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Tej Pratap has alleged that efforts are being made not only to target him but also to create divisions within his family.
Eight People Named in Complaint
According to Tej Pratap, the complaint names eight individuals as accused: Akash Yadav, Manoj Yadav, Tara Devi, Anushka Yadav, Manjit Yadav, Vishal Yadav, Abhishek Kumar Singh and Shubham Kumar.
He alleged that Manjit Yadav was the key figure behind the alleged conspiracy and claimed that attempts had been made over a prolonged period to create discord within his family.
Tej Pratap also said that his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, should support him during difficult times, adding that family members should stand together when one of them faces adversity.
Alleged Attempt to Enter Residence
Speaking to reporters on Friday evening, Tej Pratap claimed that four unidentified individuals attempted to forcibly enter his residence shortly after he addressed a press conference.
He said members of his staff tried to stop and identify the individuals, but they allegedly fled the premises. Tej Pratap expressed concern that the incident could be part of a broader conspiracy against him.
“I feel that an attempt could be made on my life. That is why I have lodged a complaint with the police,” he said.
Plans to Seek Additional Security
The JJD leader said he intends to seek enhanced security from the state government and plans to meet Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary regarding the matter.
Tej Pratap said political differences should not prevent discussions on security concerns and added that he would present the details of the case before the government.
“I have a long political career ahead of me. Naturally, I am concerned about my security,” he said.
Denies Alleged Relationship with Anushka Yadav
Tej Pratap once again denied having any relationship with Anushka Yadav. He alleged that false narratives had been created against him and that pressure had been exerted to extract money.
He claimed that repeated demands for large sums of money were made and that efforts were undertaken to damage both his family’s reputation and his political image.
Allegations of Insulting Family Members
The former minister further alleged that some members of the family involved had made derogatory remarks about his parents and relatives.
He said he holds deep respect for his parents and could not associate with individuals who, according to him, had insulted his family. Tej Pratap also stated that he wishes to maintain unity with Tejashwi Yadav and other family members and has not encouraged disputes within the family.
Defamation Case Planned
Tej Pratap indicated that he would also pursue a defamation case against those he has accused.
He maintained that a deliberate campaign had been launched to tarnish his reputation and said he would seek legal remedies through the courts.
Statement Shared on X
Following the filing of the complaint, Tej Pratap posted a statement on X, saying legal action had been initiated against what he described as a conspiracy to damage his political and social image.

He alleged blackmail, false accusations and extortion, and said action had been sought under Section 308 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and other relevant legal provisions.
In his post, Tej Pratap warned that individuals attempting to damage someone’s reputation through false allegations and conspiracy would face legal consequences. He added that he has full faith in the judicial process and believes that truth and justice will ultimately prevail.
The allegations made by Tej Pratap Yadav have been stated in his complaint and public statements. The accused individuals have not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
