Patna: Police in Bihar’s Gopalganj district have announced a Rs 5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of each of the 324 people wanted in connection with violence and stone-pelting during protests on July 25, as authorities intensify efforts to track down those still absconding.
The district police have also released photographs and identifying details of the wanted suspects through their official social media channels, urging members of the public to assist the investigation.
Reward Announced For Public Information
According to the Gopalganj Police Media Cell, the reward applies to each of the 324 wanted individuals, taking the total reward amount to around Rs 16 lakh.
Police have appealed to residents to immediately report any information about the whereabouts of the accused, assuring informants that their identities and addresses will be kept strictly confidential.
Arrests Made After Violence
Police said they have already arrested several suspects in connection with the case.
Among those remanded to judicial custody are Shah Alam, Jayram, and Advocate Manoj Kumar, whom investigators described as key accused in the case.
The three were taken to Sadar Hospital for medical examinations following their arrest before being sent to judicial custody.
Officials said interrogation of the arrested suspects has helped investigators intensify the search for the remaining accused.

Investigation Continues
Police said more than half a dozen people have so far been arrested in connection with the protest violence.
Authorities also stated that rewards had already been paid, in accordance with existing provisions, to individuals who provided information leading to earlier arrests.
The investigation into the July 25 violence remains ongoing as police continue to identify and apprehend those allegedly involved in the unrest.
