Bhabua: Prashant Kishore, addressing a press conference in Kaimur, accused the sand mafia of obstructing Lieutenant General SK Singh’s candidacy in the Tarari elections. He revealed that the district administration is questioning SK Singh’s eligibility to contest due to his name being removed from the voter list in Bihar.
Despite being a native of Tarari and having served as Vice-Chief of the Army, SK Singh’s name was shifted to the Noida voter list after his wife’s death. To resolve this issue, Form 8A has been submitted to re-register him on Bihar’s voter list. Kishore emphasized that the legal battle is ongoing, and he believes vested interests are trying to block Singh’s entry due to his stance against corruption.
Prashant Kishore stated that SK Singh, who has led operations in Siachen and Operation Parakram, is being unfairly targeted despite having land and residence in Tarari. He further explained that while challenges are part of democracy, Jan Suraj will not back down and will continue to fight the legal hurdles. If SK Singh is not allowed to contest, another promising candidate from Tarari will be fielded by Jan Suraj, determined to challenge the sand mafia.
Kishore also issued a direct challenge to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, daring him to contest from Ramgarh in the upcoming by-election on November 13. Kishore claimed that Ajit Kumar Singh, the son of RJD leader Jagadanand Singh, will not secure a second position in the Ramgarh by-election. He predicted that the RJD will finish third or fourth in the race, asserting that the people of Ramgarh will choose a leader from the common people rather than the son of a political figure.
In a related announcement, Prashant Kishore disclosed five probable candidates from Jan Suraj for the Ramgarh by-election: Vinayak Prasad Jaiswal, Shamim Ahmed, Anand Singh (Durgavati), Sushil Kushwaha, and lawyer Ramnarayan Ram. The final candidate will be chosen by Jan Suraj’s founding members and announced on October 22. Nominations for other constituencies, including Belaganj, Imamganj, Tarari, and Ramgarh, are scheduled for October 24 and 25.
