Patna: The long-awaited notification for the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4) could be released on Tuesday evening, according to sources. Preparations for issuing the notification are reportedly nearing completion.
The development comes as teacher recruitment aspirants have launched a protest in Patna, demanding that the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) issue the TRE-4 notification without further delay.
Recruitment Announced for 32,388 Posts
The Bihar government had earlier announced recruitment for 32,388 teacher posts through TRE-4.
However, sources indicate that the final number of vacancies could be higher than the previously announced figure. Additional vacancies may be included in subjects other than Maithili.
Applications could also be invited from candidates as early as next month, although the final schedule will depend on the official BPSC notification.
Candidates Stage Protest in Patna
Meanwhile, candidates have launched a Student Justice Satyagraha in Patna under the leadership of student leader Dilip Kumar.
The protesters are demanding the immediate release of the TRE-4 notification. They had earlier warned that a hunger strike would be launched if the notification was not issued within three days.
The protest has also raised concerns over the revised examination pattern and other recruitment-related issues.
Aspirants Oppose New PT-Mains Pattern
A major point of contention among candidates is the proposed two-stage examination pattern, involving a Preliminary Test (PT) followed by a Mains examination.
Several aspirants argue that the revised pattern should instead be introduced from TRE-5, as many candidates had prepared for TRE-4 under the earlier examination structure.
Candidates are seeking greater clarity on the syllabus, examination stages, vacancies and the timeline for the recruitment process.
Demands Extend Beyond TRE-4
The ongoing protest is not limited to the TRE-4 notification. Candidates have also raised demands concerning transparency in other competitive examinations and recruitment processes.
Their demands reportedly include greater transparency in examinations and recruitment for various posts, including BSSC examinations, librarian recruitment, BET, and Sub-Inspector and Constable recruitment.
Protesters have also raised political demands, including seeking the resignation of Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari.
Official Notification Will Confirm Details
While sources indicate that the TRE-4 notification may be released on Tuesday evening, candidates will need to wait for the official BPSC notification for confirmation of the number of vacancies, eligibility criteria, application dates, examination pattern and other recruitment details.
Until the notification is formally issued, any changes in the number of posts or application schedule remain subject to official confirmation.
