Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has announced a march to the Raj Bhavan in Patna on August 19, targeting the Bihar government over alleged examination paper leaks, unemployment, the state of education and the recent firing incident in Siwan.
The protest has been called by Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, with RJD chief Lalu Prasad now appealing to students and young people to join the mobilisation.
In a post on X, Lalu Prasad urged students and the youth to gather in Patna on August 19. He alleged that the government was failing to listen to democratic demands and claimed that protesters were being met with AK-47 fire.
Lalu Prasad said young people were facing continuing difficulties over paper leaks, education and employment and argued that their democratic demands should be heard.
Tejashwi Raises Questions Over Exams And Jobs
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav had earlier appealed for the Raj Bhavan march, raising a series of questions about the government’s handling of education and recruitment.
He questioned why examinations in Bihar allegedly continue to be affected by paper leaks and whether recruitment processes for government jobs are fair and transparent.
He also questioned Bihar’s performance in education and alleged that discrimination and bias could be present in recruitment.
On unemployment, Tejashwi asked why young people in Bihar, which he described as the country’s youngest state, continue to face high levels of unemployment.

Siwan Firing Also On RJD Agenda
The RJD has also linked the protest to the Siwan firing incident.
Tejashwi questioned who ordered the use of AK-47 rounds against students who, he said, were raising their demands democratically.
He called on young people to gather in Patna on August 19 and demand answers from the government.
The RJD is positioning the march as a wider mobilisation around issues affecting students and young people, with party workers and supporters expected to step up preparations ahead of the protest.
